Synopsis

Five passengers race along an empty road in a big black jeep, searching for the Bell Tower of Happiness which, according to legend, lies somewhere between St. Petersburg and the town of Uglich, near a deserted nuclear power station. The Bell Tower transports people, but it not  everyone. Each of the five passengers believes that he or she will be chosen.

Born in 1959, he directed his debut film Happy days(1991) based on his own script. His crime film Brother(1997) became a cult film and at the same time the Russian box office hit of the year. Morphine(2008) was screened at PiFan2009.
